The National Park Service commissioned five scholarly studies for the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore: "A Nationalized Lakeshore", "Coming Through With Rye", "Farming At the Water's Edge", "A Garden Apart", and "Tending A Comfortable Wilderness". These prize-winning reports provide a wealth of information, but copies have been expensive and hard-to-get. As a service to the public, BoysMind Books has reproduced these documents in digital form. They are available on the web at ManitouIslands.Org and printed copies may also now be conveniently purchased online at very reasonable prices.
